PARE (Personalized Academic Resource Engine) is a personalized learning tutor for students with different learning styles and non-traditional schedules that typically do not have access to professors or tutors during hours of availability. Not all students learn in the traditional lecture format. Some might be kinesthetic, multi-modal, and even visual learners. Using PARE allows students to understand their course material in a way that fits their learning preferences in their own time. PARE’s unique customizable approach makes it easier for students to use AI in a way that is convenient but promotes academic improvement and success.

Description of the video:
My name is Taofeeq
Isiaka, and this is PARE, a personalized academic
resource engine. PARE aims to solve a
problem for college students, specifically
college students that have other
things to do outside of school, meaning
maybe they have a part -time job that
they're going to that they spend a lot of
time in, or they have activities that they
do throughout the week that they spend
a lot of time in. Now, the problem that
PARE aims to solve is that a lot of
professors teach in a one-dimensional way
that doesn't really align with most
students' learning style. So, a teacher teaching
style could be auditory, meaning they
like to speak a lot, while the students could
be more of a visual learning, meaning they
like to see things. And there's a very
big contradiction in learning and teaching
styles here. So that's what PARE aims
to solve. PARE is an AI-powered tutor
that adapts to each student's learning
style and it provides a personalized
explanation and exercise to improve the
understanding while also promoting critical
thinking and integrity. Now, this is what
the screen looks like. This is the
interface. Now I'm going to
create an account. Enter the username and password as
well as my name. I'll select that
I'm a visual learner as well as
a social learner. And you can see
this is everything that PARE could
help with. now this screen are
basically to motivate students it shows all
how many days they've been studying for the
performance score and the correct answers
to add this week so this is the real tool
though PARE AI I'm going to use the real PARE
and open a new tab now here I'm able
to ask PARE a question let's say
I have a question about the 2008
financial crisis you can see it's asking
for my learning style here I would say
three and four you can see it's generating
all these answers and it's giving a visual
flow and it's also asking me questions
so it could make me think critically
which i think it's a very important
thing for students now this solution is
incredibly effective because most
students just have to do a lot of things
outside of class. Anyways, because
the professors are explaining in a
different way than they understand so PARE could be their sort of
tutor that helps them understand
materials and classes. Thank you for listening.
