Happy New Year, everyone! As you prepare for the start of the semester, I thought it might be helpful to have a few resources at hand:
Keep Teaching has two sections to help you: 1. Adapt your teaching style for hybrid instruction, which focuses on approaches that support students who are temporarily unable to attend class in person, and 2. Prepare for spring, which focuses on strategies for content, assignments, communication, and assessment.
The CITL blog also features a new post from Greg Siering about Keeping students engaged despite absences. It covers managing late work and missed assignments, connecting students virtually to class, and deciding what to do about excessive absences.
Below are a few upcoming events, including an extension for those of you still interested in submitting an abstract for the JoTLT special issue on authentic assessment.
