Hello everyone,
In keeping with tradition, I wanted to share our latest love letter –– this year, from eLearning Design and Services' Daniel Janicki to PlayPosit. Enjoy, and be sure to read to the end for upcoming events (including a PlayPosit webinar, Engaging Students with Video, tomorrow at noon ET).
PlayPosit Valentine
My Dearest PlayPosit,
I know we have only known each other a few weeks, but I cannot hold it in any longer: I like you PlayPosit. You have captured my heart, and now all I can think about is how you have made my life so much richer.
Your ease of working with Canvas, the way you allow students to submit videos that only their peers and/or instructor can review… and let's not forget how you support deep reading with contextualized discussions! You have set my soul on fire, and I want to shout your name from every rooftop so all can hear.
I know I was skeptical of you in the beginning, thinking you were a video tool like all the rest. But when I created my first bulb, you astounded me. I could simply add questions, discussions, and more into a video with ease! When I was finished, everything integrated with Canvas, and I was able to create auto–graded questions and watch as you magically delivered the grades to my Canvas Gradebook. You took my breath away.
I was already smitten with you when I discovered I could create discussion within a bulb, so my students could chat about the video as they watched it. They could see each other's comments and respond, and I could review just as easily by clicking on the discussion question.
My head was swimming and my heart ached, I was falling hard and fast for you. Just when I thought I couldn't be more into you, you showed me learner–created bulbs! Now students can submit their video presentations, I can comment on them, and you'll timestamp them for me.
I am so excited to see where we go from here. I look forward to the many long years we will spend together and the countless experiences we will have together.
Yours in love,
Daniel William Janicki
