Hi everyone,
I wanted to address a common misconception about the IU eTexts program: It covers a lot more than digital texts. You can also order digital courseware –– from problem sets and adaptive learning tools to games and simulations, and even video feedback tools. The ordering window for Summer and Fall 2023 is currently open.
Why order these learning tools through the IU eTexts program instead of through the IU Bookstore, the publisher, or an online retailer? For starters, you'll get streamlined integration into Canvas, single sign–on for students (no access codes), and local technical support via the UITS Support Center and the IU eTexts team. And that's only the beginning.
Benefits for students:
- Eliminates bookstore/retailer markup
- Removes the need to shop around to find the best price
- Provides a discount that students cannot get anywhere else
- Ensures there's not a multi–term courseware fee due all at once (recognizing that not every student completes a course sequence – e.g., for a language, chemistry, or math – in the same manner or timeframe)
- Offers a more liberal refund policy than the bookstore, or other retailers
Benefits for instructors:
- Delivers access to the correct and complete title before the first day of class
- For every student in the class, regardless of their current financial circumstances
- With purchase protections like bursar billing, coverage by financial aid, and a liberal refund policy
- Eliminating many of the early barriers to academic success
- And promoting a quality learning community
You don't even have to rely on students to act in order to gain access to the required materials. All students have to do is enroll in the class.
