Hi everyone,
The IU eTexts team is helping with the transition to a new IU Bookstore vendor. If you currently order class materials through Barnes & Noble, here are some key points they shared with me:
- Barnes & Noble will be IU's bookstore provider through May 23, 2022.*
- This change does not impact the Fort Wayne campus.
- IU will share details of the transition with students.
- The Follett ordering procedure, coming in late March, will have a new look and feel but offer a similar experience:
- Ordering will be via a new task in One.IU.
- Follett will offer online and in–person training and support.
- Schools and departments can designate staff to submit orders on behalf of faculty.
- Additional details will be sent directly to faculty and shared via IU Today when it's time to start submitting orders to Follett.
* Note: If your class begins on May 23 or earlier, submit your order via the Barnes & Noble Adoption Insights Portal (May 9 is the last day to submit an order). If your class begins on May 24 or later, submit your order via the new Follett Discover portal once it's available.
For more on this transition, visit the FAQs section of the new textbook ordering page.
If you currently order class materials through IU eTexts, the timelines and procedures all remain the same –– and if you have not tried an IU eText yet, now is the perfect time to switch. There's no bookstore markup, and discounts are up to 90% off list prices. Plus, all McGraw Hill textbooks are $38 for fall 2022, and all Pearson textbooks are $26.31 for fall 2022.
The IU eTexts Order Tool is open now in One.IU. Deadlines for ordering can be found in the IU Knowledge Base and the self–enroll Canvas course IU eTexts: A Faculty and Staff Introduction.
