Hi everyone,
Yesterday (Wednesday, May 4), you likely received a direct email with instructions for accessing the new IU Bookstore portal to order course materials. The upshot: The new portal is now ready to accept orders for late summer and fall classes.
The IU eTexts team also crafted a series of helpful reminders and ordering tips that I wanted to share with you by way of this message.
Reminders:
- Access to the new portal is through the "Order Textbooks/Course Materials (Faculty)" task in One.IU. Click the heart icon in the lower right corner of the task to save it as a favorite, so it's easier to find in the future.
- If you're assigned to a class in the SIS Schedule of Classes, you can also access the new portal from your Faculty Center in One.IU.
- Even if youve already placed an order for a late summer or fall class in the Barnes & Noble portal, you still need to submit the order through the new portal.
- If you need Concierge or Administrator access to the new portal, you'll find instructions in the FAQ.
Ordering tips:
- When you first log in, click "Begin tour" to learn how to navigate and use the new portal. If you get stuck in the ordering process, scroll to the bottom of the page to find the "Help" link. Click it to re–open the tour.
- If you want more guidance, Follett offers demo videos on ordering.
- Take time to read the on–screen prompts and links, which are meant to provide clear and simple guidance.
- In the top right corner of the screen, click the drop–down menu next to your name to view FAQs about the ordering process.
- Your order will be noted as "Pending" until Follett acts on it, after which you"ll receive an email confirmation.
- Brytewave is the name of Follett"s eBook platform –– it's not part of the IU eTexts initiative, and it does not offer all the same benefits and features.
Follett recommends you submit late summer orders by May 20 and fall orders by June 3. For more details on the new process, be sure to check out the FAQ about the transition on the UITS textbook ordering page.
